Riverside is a step closer to 72 new affordable housing units, new Fair Housing Council of Riverside County offices and a Civil Rights Institute.

The development, on 1.47 acres in the 3900 block of Mission Inn Avenue, is set to cost more than $35 million and will be built with money from at least seven sources. The Riverside City Council voted 5-0 Tuesday, Oct. 17, to approve its key part of that funding: a $3 million loan from the city’s Housing Authority.
