On a day of tributes on a symbolic date, Kobe Bryant fans gathered in Riverside at a symbolic time — 5:24 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24 — to honor the late Los Angeles Lakers great and his daughter, Gianna.
Fans met at the ornate, historic, more-than-century-old courthouse in downtown Riverside. Then they walked to nearby Riverside City Hall where they held a vigil holding battery-powered candles, said Sue Strickland, president of the Riverside African-American Historical Society.
The society organized the event.
