She was the founder of the Riverside African America Historical Society and attended the segregated Irving School

Susan ‘Sue’ Enid Strickland, a leader in the Black community of Riverside’s Eastside neighborhood and long-time educator, has died. She was 88.

Strickland died Thursday, September 1, of natural causes at her Riverside home, sister-n-law Michelle Strickland said.
